TEAM SQUEAKY
MATTHEW TILLMAN KNIGHT

FEB 11, 1979  —  DEC 28, 2024

Brother. Husband. Dad. Friend for life. We keep his name on the board — and his kindness in play.

Why Team Squeaky

A name his friends gave him.
A team anyone can join.

Matthew — "Squeaky" to the people who loved him — spent his whole life showing up for others: birthday cards that never missed, Meals on Wheels routes, a word of encouragement exactly when you needed one.

When he was diagnosed with glioblastoma in July 2023, he met it the same way he met everything else — with grit, grace, and a grin. Team Squeaky exists to keep that spirit moving: raising money for brain tumor research, honoring the caregivers who carried our family, and funding the scholarship that bears his daughter Nora Claire's name.

Annual event

The Team Squeaky Golf Classic

Matthew loved this game — he and his brother Earl worked the Masters together for years, and their group texts were half golf picks, half life. Once a year, we get his people back on the course to play the way he did: all in, and for each other.

Why gray?

Gray is the awareness color for brain tumors. Glioblastoma is the most aggressive form — and one of the least funded relative to its impact. Every Team Squeaky event wears a little gray, so that one day fewer families have to.
